I realized that my last scratchboard artwork was done 10 years ago I decided it was time to try again this media tonsee my progress.

Good idea but I could not find any supplier in the Geneva area selling black ink cayboard ir any quality scratchboard surface. I tried to order it in foreign countries but shipping and customs fees are far too high.

Therefore. I decided to do an almost scrtached art, using only one white pastel stick on black velours paper

Waking up to early this morning by my son (unlike me he fall asleep again once bavk on his bed) I had one hour to occupy.

So I just draw another big cat study. I will probably use this sketch for a painting one day

Rembrant dark grey pastel card 30cm x 40cm

I started to work as if I was doing a scratchboard artwork (see below step by step) worki g carefully with 2 different pastel (almost black and almost white)

The tiger fur is almost done and I refine the eyes.

I started to work on the background

I only need to finalize a background that does not distract the eyes, to reinforce the composition and help the viewer to imagine this beast in India.

Once the bacground will be done I could do the last adjustement of the tiger + painting the whiskers

I am currently working on a new gorilla painting done with soft pastels on velours paper.

I already fixed the sketch and blocked the colors. Then I putted 4 thin layers of blue and brown to give deepth and rich colors.
