I did not post much artwork for the past weeks. The reason is that I am working on a huge but time consuming project (still related to wildlife do not worry) that needs more than 20 illustrations

I have been commissionned by BARE ESSENTIAL Magazine to write an article regarding traditional art vs. digital art.

This article will feature 10 of my paintings + 2 tutorials (1rst with pastels and 2nd with Corel Painter)

I will also be featured on their wildlife artist tribute magazine (to be realeased in January 2014)

I first made a detailled study with white pastel on black velours paper.

After scanning it, i reworked the full gorilla with Painter 12 to create new colors.

I am happy with both pictures, as each have their quality. I found out that working digitally based on a traditional sketch create very nice textures that cannot be achieved if the artwork is fully done digitally.

It is very complementary

2 new sketches. I intend to do 1 pastel portrait per wild cat species in a format of 30cm x 40cm
