2 recent sketches of leopards. 1rst one will be used on two different mixed media project (one black Panther, one ordinary leopard), whilst 2nd will be subject of a watersoluble oil test of palette knives ´ use Quick sketch of a brown bear after a visit to Servion zoo today with my spouse and my two sons. I did not post much artwork for the past weeks. The reason is that I am working on a huge but time consuming project (still related to wildlife do not worry) that needs more than 20 illustrations ![]() I have been commissionned by BARE ESSENTIAL Magazine to write an article regarding traditional art vs. digital art. http://www.bare-essentials.com.au/subscribe-now/ This article will feature 10 of my paintings + 2 tutorials (1rst with pastels and 2nd with Corel Painter) I will also be featured on their wildlife artist tribute magazine (to be realeased in January 2014) I first made a detailled study with white pastel on black velours paper. After scanning it, i reworked the full gorilla with Painter 12 to create new colors. I am happy with both pictures, as each have their quality. I found out that working digitally based on a traditional sketch create very nice textures that cannot be achieved if the artwork is fully done digitally. It is very complementary 2 new sketches. I intend to do 1 pastel portrait per wild cat species in a format of 30cm x 40cm Already done tiger, lion, African leopard and snow leopard I still need to do at least: Ocelot Jaguar Cloud leopard Lynx Bobcat Carcal Serval Save the date, on December 4th. We celebrate and support the cheetah conservation program. www.cheetah.org This painting is my tribute to this day. All proceeds on prints will be refunded to the cheetah conservation program. I will also release another digital painting + a pastel artwork just for this special event |
